Genoa International Poetry Festival

The 32° edition of the Poetry Festival will be held in Genoa at the Ducale Palace and other venues from June 11st to, June 21st, 2026

This is the ultimate poetry festival, the longest-running event dedicated to poetry: the 32° International Poetry Festival “Parole Spalancate” (wide open words) will take place in Genoa from, June 11st to, June 21st, 2026, featuring over 100 events including performances, public readings, concerts, screenings, exhibitions, guided tours, and multimedia shows.

Italy’s longest-running festival

Founded in 1995, the Genoa International Poetry Festival is Italy’s longest-running event dedicated to poetry, with over 1,500 poets and artists participating in its 29 editions, and many free events. It spans 11 consecutive days of programming and has been exported to various countries including Belgium, France, Finland, Japan, and Germany.

The Programme

The theme for 2026 will be “Regeneration“. The programme includes over 100 free events featuring poets and performers from around the world in unique locations in and around Genoa. Events will include readings, concerts, exhibitions, installations, conferences, screenings, and guided tours. Highlights include the itinerant reading of Bloomsday, the Night of Poetry, guided tours of the Poetical Paths, and the Resilient Hall dedicated to poetry publishers and magazines.
