Recco’s Fireworks

An appointment with history in the city of gastronomy and fireworks.

On 7 and 8 September they celebrate the anniversary of the Coronation of Our Lady of Suffrage, which in Recco has always had the dual significance of religious devotion and profane spectacle of fireworks.

For almost two centuries, the firework display – described as unique and impressive even by Stendhal – has been a fixture.

While fireworks are the most spectacular moment of Recco’s days, all the surroundings are suggestive: dozens of stalls and the famous gastronomic stands of the neighbourhoods at every corner of the city.

And then the famous shooting of the so-called “mascoli” and the procession.
