From Portovenere to the Heart of the Cinque Terre
Starting from Portovenere, a village famous for its beauty, and its bay a UNESCO heritage site, entering the area of the Regional Nature Park of Portovenere, which include the same areas as; the islands of Palmaria, Tino, and Tinetto, and the Marine Protected Area.
The Marine Protected Area of the Cinque Terre encompasses four municipalities: Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Monterosso al Mare, and Levanto. It is committed to preserving the biodiversity and marine habitats of the five villages.
The coast of the Cinque Terre is characterised by rocky cliffs and shallows. You can’t help but notice, from the sea, the jagged profile along the five miles of rocky coastline enclosed by two areas. Rock spurs rising steeply from the sea, tiny coves, bays, inlets, and small beaches among the rocks are a one-of-a-kind feature in the world, with crystal-clear waters.
