Many inhabitants of Sessarego (Bogliasco) went to Argentina. Since 2014, the municipalities of Bogliasco and Chivilcoy have been twinned as a symbol of community unity

Bogliasco

The first municipality after Genoa is Bogliasco. A lovely location, with two beautiful beaches under the church and at the Roman Bridge, which dominates the beach and is ideal for a souvenir photo. There is a beautiful walk along Via Mazzini between panoramic corners and sea views. This is the land of festivals: there are many during the summer.

Along the creuze (alleys) up to Monte S. Croce, there are particular “stone crests”: stones placed vertically on dry stone walls to prevent cattle from straying from the fence

Pieve Ligure

The

Trofie - typical fresh pasta made of water and flour - originated in Sori. Perhaps their name come from the Genoese “strufuggià”, to rub: a movement that gives them their typical shape

Sori

Among beautiful sandy and pebble beaches, Sori is home to some of the most famous delicacies in Liguria. It’s also the town where Pablo Picasso’s ancestors were born: a plaque in the historic centre commemorates this event. The oratory in the centre and the Church of Sant'Apollinare in the hills are worth visiting.

In 1189, the time of the Third Crusade, a product similar to today's Recco cheese Focaccia was referred to as “a semolina focaccia filled with freshly thickened giuncata cheese

Recco

It is the capital of focaccia with PGI cheese, with dozens of restaurants and famous bakeries. Here, other delicacies have been created over the years, such as “Trofie with Pesto” and “Pansoti”. The Festival of Fire, which takes place every year on 7th and 8th September in honour of Our Lady of Suffrage, is a famous “Sagra”. However, Recco is not just food! It is also the capital of sport and in particular of water polo with Pro Recco. The beach has become the chosen destination for surfers.
