Skiing in Santo Stefano d’Aveto: a day in the snow with a sea view

Did you know that a few kilometres from the sea, in the heart of the Aveto Valley, there is a ski resort ready to welcome you and let you experience an intense day in the snow?

To reach the Santo Stefano d’Aveto Ski Area park your car at Rio Freddo, put your boots on, put your skis on and set off to make the most of a day that will have three important protagonists: snow, mountains, and sea view.

Next to the parking area you can immediately see the box office to get your ski pass and rent the right equipment.

The first ski lift is the chairlift from Rocca d’Aveto to Prato Cipolla. While in the summer it is the starting point for hikes to Mount Groppo Rosso, Lake Nero and its overhanging Mount Nero and Mount Maggiorasca; during winter the meadow is the arrival point for several alpine ski slopes.

Once you reach the summit of Monte Bue with the chairlift, you only have to choose between the blue and red slopes. Don’t miss the breathtaking panorama around you! The descent brings to the woods of the Aveto Valley and the sea view is unique. Bend after bend, you’re back in the valley. –

It’s time for another round, but before you get back on track, we recommend a stop at Rifugio di Prato della Cipolla, which offers everything from tasty home-made specialities to tasty sandwiches for those who want to get back on skis immediately. After a few more descents, it is time for the lifts to close.

Sport and fun, unique landscapes and unspoilt nature, taste and relaxation… nothing is missing!
