Liguria applied for European Sport Region 2025

Liguria is a land of poets, seafarers… and sports!
The Liguria Region officially applied as European Sport Region 2025 relying on its outdoor activities, state-of-the-art facilities, historical clubs and new organisations, as well as its environment and territory that are naturally suited for sports activities.
At the end of the document, you will find the complete dossier on sports in Liguria: from facilities, with a complete census of all the facilities in Liguria, to events, ranging from sporting excellences, clubs and athletes, with a special focus on the enhancement of the territory and outdoor sports.
Liguria meets all the requirements to become European Sport Region 2025, aiming at encouraging more and more citizens to practice sports, experiencing it as protagonists and not mere spectators. The Sports Department has been pursuing this goal for some time now, in collaboration with the National Association of Italian Municipalities (Anci), the public company Sport&Salute, the Italian National Olympic Committee (Coni) and the Italian Paralympic Committee (Cip), and in September it will invite the Aces Europe examining committee to Liguria to get a closer look at the extraordinary sports opportunities that our region can offer.
In addition to the dossier, they also presented the logo that will accompany the Liguria Region’s application and all the events associated to the European Sport Region 2025. The graphics recall the colours of the territory, from the sea to the mountains, to the sporting dynamism of Liguria.
