62° Trofeo Laigueglia
The Trofeo Laigueglia, the race that uncovers talents, opens the cycling season. It will be held for the 62nd time on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Professional cyclists will come to challenge each other in Liguria.
It has always been the race that marks the start of the season. It’s the first true challenge between the top cyclists worldwide, a historic race that many would love to have in their palmares, held a few weeks before the Milan-Sanremo. And the scenery is worthy of the greats: the sun-drenched and flower-filled roads of the Riviera delle Palme.
The 2025 Edition
The Trofeo Laigueglia, the historic cycling race through the hills of Laigueglia and Alassio, which has just celebrated its 60th anniversary, will take place on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Once again, the Ligurian Riviera will be one of the stars of the show.
The Course
The race course is challenging and spectacular: the start and finish will be in Laigueglia, covering a total of 201 km with two Mountain Grand Prix points up to 80 km from the finish (Paravenna, at km 68, and Testico, at km 122). A descent to Albenga, the Aurelia road to Alassio, and then back to Laigueglia: at 44 km from the finish, a final circuit of about 11 km will begin, with the climbs of Colla Micheri and Capo Mele, to be repeated a total of four times.
Roll of Honour
Who will write their name in the roll of honour for 2025? Among the past illustrious winners are Merckx, Dancelli, Bitossi, Baronchelli, Maertens, De Vlaeminck, Saronni, Ballan, and Pozzato, the only one to have won three times.
