Borgio Verezzi Theatre Festival

The Borgio Verezzi Theatre Festival is one of the biggest cultural events in Liguria.

It takes place every year in summer, outdoors, with strictly live music, in the magical setting of Piazza Sant’Agostino.

It anticipates the national theatre review of the subsequent winter season with numerous national premieres.

Performances have been taking place since 1967; and thanks to a series of outdoor panels set up by the Municipality, it is now possible to retrace the history of the Festival, year by year, with images, anecdotes, programmes, protagonists.

On the occasion of the Festival, the jury awards the Veretium Prize, a national prose prize to the prose actor or actress who, in the last theatre season, stood out for his/her commitment to the text and acting ability.
