The crib of Manarola: with 8,000 bulbs

From 8 December 2024, the beautiful nativity scene in Manarola, heart of the Cinque Terre, will not be missing among the Christmas protagonists.

In 1961, Mario Andreoli, author of the most photographed nativity scene in Liguria, the crib of Manarola, started building the illuminated statues on the mountain to fulfil a promise made to his father.

Year after year, new silhouettes were added, which now total 240, illuminated by no less than 8,000 bulbs.

Each figure was built at natural height: the shepherds, the Magi, the ox, the donkey and the Holy Family. From 8 December and then for a month, the spectacular crib of records can be admired in all its splendour.

Obviously, we suggest you to arrive in the country after sunset.
