Journey through the Middle Ages

Every year, in the summer, the centre of Finalborgo (which is among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) is transported to the past to relive the atmosphere of the 15th century, when Marquis Giovanni Del Carretto reconquered the village in a single night, putting an end to the war against the powerful republic of Genoa.

Streets and squares are enlivened by ladies and knights in period costumes, shops and inns are populated by patrons of the time, and the streets are lined with medieval Celtic music concerts and performances by jesters, jugglers and fire-eaters.

Space is also given to the flavours of the era in the Via del Mercato and the Via delle Taverne, as well as the annually organised medieval dinner at the Locanda dei Cavalieri.
