The Infiorate

One of the famous traditions of Liguria is that of the Infiorate, or carpets made of petals that are created as a sort of floral mandala on the occasion of Corpus Domini. In Imperia town, an expanse with millions of petals is set up by the Compagnia di via Carducci. Also in the Imperia town area, in Diano Marina, the streets of the centre will be carpeted with splendid decorations, while in Cervo the centre of gravity of the Infiorata is the beautiful churchyard in front of the Corallini church. In Ranzi, a hamlet of Pietra Ligure near Savona, a grandiose Infiorata takes place every three years (next edition in 2022). In the province of La Spezia, in Brugnato, the floral carpet is almost a kilometre long.
