The Pumpkin Exhibition in Murta

The spectacular and delicious Pumpkin Exhibition in Murta returns on November the 9th and 10th, with a second weekend on November the 16th and 17th.

Long and plump, colourful and never the same. Pumpkins are one of the symbols of autumn, often associated with Halloween, but they were already known in the time of the Phoenicians, although they truly gained popularity after the discovery of America. They are fun, and even their scientific name is amusing: cucurbits. For 37 years, pumpkins have had their own capital: Murta, a hilly district of Genoa, in the Val Polcevera area. This is where the famous Pumpkin Exhibition in Murta takes place.
