The RandoBefana 2025

Monday, 6th January 2025: The RandoBefana, the cycling tour that kicks off the winter riding season in Liguria

On Monday, 6th January 2025, the RandoBefana will depart from Spotorno, marking a classic season-opening sporting event organised by AC Millennium.

The RandoBefana

The RandoBefana is not a race but a randonée – a group ride over distances of 200 and 120km, starting and finishing in Piazza della Vittoria in Spotorno, in the province of Savona. Now a historic tradition, the first edition was held in 2012, serving as a wake-up call for cyclists from Liguria and Northern Italy. Liguria, with its mild winter climate, offers perfect conditions for cycling and outdoor sports.

Riding on the roads of champions

Participants cycle along the route of the Milano-Sanremo, on the sunlit winter Aurelia road, with no competitive pressure – just the desire to ride together and rack up the miles. There are two routes: the longer one, covering 20km, includes the famous three capes – Mele, Cervo, and Berta – tackled both on the outbound and return journeys, as well as the legendary Poggio, ridden only on the way to Sanremo. The shorter 120km route turns back at Imperia.
