Winter and Spring Regattas 2024

The Yacht Club Italiano offers a series of unmissable events for those who love sailing and want to experience the sea. It will be an exciting season starting on January 27th with the first stage of the International Winter Contest, a series of 3 winter weekends dedicated to Optimist, ILCA, and dinghies, and then continuing with the great classics of the spring and summer season. The Loro Piana Giraglia and the Portofino regattas remain the must-attend events of the season.

The season opens with three winter weekends dedicated to the International Genoa Winter Contest. The first two (January 27/28 and February 3/4) reserved for Optimist and ILCA 4/6/7; the third and final one (March 16/17) for the H22, J/24, and J/80 dinghies. An excellent opportunity to make the most of the winter conditions in the Gulf of Genoa, often affected by strong north winds and flat seas. In March, from the 29th to the 31st, the Genova Sailing Week – Coppa Albertiche takes place, originating from the first regattas organized by the Club.

From May 2nd to 5th, the Portofino Spring Regattas arrive. The village of Portofino and the Yacht Club Italiano once again inaugurate the sporting season of large yachts with the return of the Spring Regattas. Among the confirmations for 2024, the Gallinara Regatta – Cappelletta Trophy, from May 18th to 19th. May is also the month of the 12′ Dinghies, returning with one of the most beloved regattas at the Club, the Bombola d’Oro – Siad Trophy, always with Santa Margherita and Portofino as a natural setting and now a classic for the 12′ Dinghy Class.

For this edition: opening of the new regatta village in Saint-Tropez on Friday, June 7, with 4 days of inshore racing in the waters of Saint-Tropez (June 8, 9, 10, 11) and culminates with the start of the offshore race on Wednesday, June 12, on the classic 241-mile triangle Saint-Tropez – Giraglia – Genoa. The Loro Piana Giraglia week ends with the award ceremony scheduled for Saturday, June 15th, at the Club’s headquarters.
