Discover Deiva Marina away from the waves
Riverwalk adventure trail for experienced walkers in the karstic cave Grotta dell’Oca, a natural basin located at an altitude of approximately 125 metres above sea level.
The route includes the crossing of a small wooden bridge over the brook below, followed by several treacherous stretches bordering the brook with several exposed passages and crossings in the shallow waters of the brook, with a high degree of difficulty.
The cavity, flanked by a small waterfall, offers an interesting naturalistic habitat with valley flora and river fish fauna. Of particular interest are the crystalline formations that refract light plays on the karstic rock and the ferruginous sediments on the riverbed pebbles, due to deposits from an abandoned mine upstream.
The geographical coordinates are Lat. 44° 13′ 55″ and Long. 9° 13′ 14″, it was discovered and surveyed by cavers in 1979.
