From the sea to the mountains: Liguria’s villages by bicycle

Active Regeneration Villages

Seven days of sports and culture, thanks its mild climate; ups and downs between capes and hills overlooking the sea; continuous changes of vegetation, from Mediterranean scrub, vineyards, olive groves and chestnut trees, to the meadows of the Maritime Alps; breathtaking views, between mountains stretching to the sky and bays drawn out over the sea.
For several years, this was the natural training ground of many professionals who became top cyclists in the history of cycling: people like Coppi and Mercks, who wintered on the Riviera and prepared for the Spring Classics, especially the Milan-San Remo race.
Besides, this is also a real land, made up of seaside and rural villages, small castles and Romanesque towns; inhabited by tenacious men since cave times, ready to forge stone walls on the steep slopes to soften their appearance; to know and face the sea for their livelihood and trade; pious men willing to share their labours and revenues for their families, communities and villages.
