The loop hike starts in the historic centre of Levanto.Starting from the walls of the medieval village, we walk up the broad valley of Levanto enjoying beautiful views. Along the trail, we can admire the typical vegetation of the so-called green rocks, covered with fragrant thyme and other aromatic herbs. Reaching the ridge of the Punta Mesco promontory, the view sweeps over the entire Cinque Terre coast.After a well-deserved picnic break at the ruins of Sant’Antonio, we descend on the main path towards Levanto, through Mediterranean scrub, sheer cliffs and holm oak forests. Finally, we arrive at Levanto’s seafront and even take a dip in the sea!Details: approx. 5 hours, difference in altitude +/- 500 m, approx. 11 km.What you need: Hiking boots, rucksack, water, picnic, sunscreen and hat, water-resistant jacket.Note: The path is often steep and uneven, therefore it requires good hiking practice.www.levantetrails.com
