A Weekend of Tradition and Culture in Aveto

Every year in Santo Stefano d’Aveto, the Transhumance returns, a traditional rite of passage that marks the changing of seasons. In the enchanting backdrop of forests painted with endless autumnal hues, herds leave the high pastures to return to the stables, where they will spend the winter. It’s a festive occasion for everyone, a captivating day that concludes with a farmer’s lunch featuring local products.

And it’s the local farm donkeys that participate in the Transhumance and take center stage in a special excursion: a fascinating family walk along trails and mule tracks that connect the numerous hamlets of Santo Stefano d’Aveto.
