Sanremo Festival: all events in the Flower City
The 73rd edition of the Sanremo Festival will be held from the 7th to 11th of February 2023. Here are all the details on how to experience it in the city, such as collateral events and which singers will be in the competition.
The 73rd edition of the Sanremo Festival will somehow conquer you: the Festival enters the heart of Italians and the hearth of who loves entertainment all over the world.
The town of Sanremo is every year transformed during the week of the Festival: from a quiet western coastal town, it becomes the capital of music. You can’t miss it if you love music and entertainment. The City of Flowers will welcome you with many collateral events.
Casa Sanremo will open on Sunday 5 February at 6 pm at the Palafiori for the 16th time: it will host appointments, shows, broadcasts and gastronomic experiences. Here is the program.
Do not miss the Red Carpet (which this year, however, will be Green carpet) right in front of the Ariston Theatre: 300 meters of fame and fans where the protagonists of the Festival will parade. This year, for the first time, the Festival will be also ‘host’ in the squares of Sanremo because of the Rai project “Between stage and city”: Piazza Colombo will host a stage on which concerts and live events will take place. Piero Pelù, Nek, Francesco Renga, Achille Lauro, Annalisa and List Representative are expected. In Piazza Borea D’Olmo there will be Rai Radio 2, Casa Siae and Bobo TV, with the confirmed presence of Bobo Vieri, Antonio Cassano and other soccer champions. An exhibition dedicated to Raffaella Carrà will be set up at Forte di Santa Tecla, while the area in front of the fortress, Pian di Nave, will host other shows and events. At Villa Nobel, on the other hand, there will be the headquarters of Radio Mediaset with Radio 105, Radio Montecarlo, Radio Norba, and other broadcasters. Many other appointments will take place in Serra La Fenice and in the internal lounges of the beautiful villa of the Swedish scientist.
Want to also enjoy a city tour? A pink train leaves from Forte di Santa Tecla and will take you around the Flowers City from Piazza Colombo and the Casino.
And the singing festival? It will take place as usual at the Ariston Theater, the heart of Sanremo, conducted for the fourth consecutive year by Amadeus, which is also the artistic director of the event. He will be joined by Gianni Morandi as co-host; by Chiara Ferragni as host in the first and fifth evening; by Francesca Fagnani in the second evening; by Paola Egonu in the third evening; and by Chiara Francini in the fourth.
The scenography of the Festival, created by the father-daughter couple Gaetano and Maria Chiara Castelli will have soft, sinuous lines, with a stage never seen before, a spaceship full of colors and stairs, which we know is one of the most important elements of the evening.
28 competing artists will participate in the singing competition, followed all over the world, including 22 chosen singers and 6 winners of Sanremo Giovani, with their 28 unpublished songs: Giorgia, the Article 31s, Elodie, Colapesce and Di Martino, Ariete, Modà, Mara Sattei, I Cugini di Campagna, Mr. Rain, Marco Mengoni, Anna Oxa, Lazza, Tananai, Paola and Chiara, LDA, Madame, Gianluca Grignani, Rosa Chemical, Coma_Cose, Levante and Ultimo. And hey, from the first rumors, the songs of Mengoni, Madame, and Colapesce Dimartino should not be missed.
Among the guests, Mahmood and Blanco will open the Festival on the first evening with their 2022 hit “Brividi”, followed by the Poohs (Roby, Dodi, Red and Riccardo Fogli). In the second evening Al Bano and Massimo Ranieri will arrive together with Gianni Morandi as co-host with Amadeus, the Måneskin will be the guests of the third evening. Great international guests the Black Eyed Peas on Wednesday 8 February. Salmo, Fedez, Takagi & Ketra and Guè will perform from the Costa Smeralda cruise-boat, anchored in front of the port of Sanremo.
Let’s the Festival begins!
