Sciacchetrail
On March 28, 29, and 30, 2025, the Sciacchetrail will take place, a race through the wine trails, a “vertical” trek to discover the territory and the beauty of the Cinque Terre.
The Sciacchetrail is not just a race. Of course, you can run it and challenge yourself in an exceptional natural environment, the trails of the Cinque Terre National Park, but you will also immerse yourself in a landscape where human activity has always blended with nature. The 10th edition of the Sciacchetrail will take place on March 28, 29, and 30, 2025.
The 2025 Course
The race takes place along the world-unique path of the Cinque Terre, an imaginary line that connects wine, sanctuaries, villages, nature, and communities, starting and ending in Monterosso al Mare, passing through the towns of Monterosso al Mare, Riomaggiore, and Vernazza. In addition to the traditional 47 km route in the Cinque Terre, there is also a 100 km option, which will cross into the Val di Vara, a true test of strength and athleticism.
A Unique Experience
A bib number for the Sciacchetrail is a unique experience. Nearly 900 pre-registrations for the 300 available bibs. Check the website for information about the lottery!
A Wine, A Territory
But even if you are not among the runners and will only follow the race, it will still be a fantastic day of sport and nature in a unique setting. The protagonist, along with the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage territory, will be the trails and vineyards of Sciacchetrà, the sweet and fortified passito wine produced in the Cinque Terre from the Bosco, Albarola, and Vermentino grape varieties. A wine that has in fact helped create the marvel of the landscape, with terraced vineyards, dry stone walls, and the cröse paths that climb the hills, all shaped by centuries of hard work. For the first time, participants will also explore the area immediately behind the Cinque Terre, the Val di Vara, with its nature and history.
