Many concerts set to take place until December 25th in Liguria, with one common theme: Christmas in Music
Christmas in Music on the Riviera dei Fiori
The Christmas Gala arrives at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo, from the 29th of November to the 1st of December: a spectacular show of wonders that continues to captivate both adults and children alike. The show is presented by Le Cirque Top Performers, Europe’s largest company, offering a rare opportunity to admire the world’s finest contemporary circus artists.
In Imperia, on the 15th of December, in Piazza Monsignor Marello, “Vieni, Nasci Ancora” will take place – a reflective concert as part of the national Christmas Inside series, featuring the Parr Rock Choir. As a true Christmas gift, the Salvini Theatre in Pieve di Teco will reopen on the 7th of December with a themed performance by and with Pino Petruzzelli. Finally, on the 14th of December, enjoy music from Nevenka Vukosav in concert.
Concerts on the Riviera delle Palme
In Garlenda on the 6th of December, enjoy the Disney Christmas concert featuring the voice of Eliana Zunino, Alessandro Collina on piano, and Stefano Guazzo on clarinet and saxophone. Also on the 6th of December in Vado Ligure, the group Liguriani presents “Tu scendi dalle stelle”. This journey through traditional Christmas music will evoke the emotions tied to the holiday season.
There will be a gospel music concert by the Double Trust Choir in Alassio on the 7th of December, featuring ten choristers from diverse musical backgrounds united by their passion for African-American music traditions. On the same day, at the Civic Art Gallery of Savona, the Fabio Rinaudo Trio will perform Puer natus in Bethlehem, blending Christmas music with art and bagpipes.
On the 8th of December in Zuccarello, in the Church of San Bartolomeo, the Coro di Andora will give a Christmas concert alongside its soloists.
In Finalborgo, on Friday the 6th of December, the Finale Music Festival – Winter Edition will feature a screening of the documentary Jesus Loves The Fools, introduced by Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi and the filmmakers. On the 8th of December, the Christmas Concert “Le canzoni di De André… senza le parole” will take place at the Destefanis Auditorium at 9pm.
Albissola Marina: Once upon a Christmas…
On Sunday, 8th of December at 8:45 pm, in the Parish Church of N.S. della Concordia, a concert entirely dedicated to Christmas will take place, organised by the Municipality of Albissola Marina and the ArtINcanto Association. The evening will open with the Christmas Carolers ArtINcanto, a group of volunteer singers (adults and children, professionals and amateurs) who dedicate their time and voices to the true Spirit of Christmas, including through charitable projects. Following this, the concert “Once Upon a Christmas” will feature Eliana Zunino on vocals, Stefano Guazzo on saxophone and clarinet, and Alessandro Collina on piano. The programme will include great Christmas classics from across the Atlantic and soundtracks of fairy tales from the big screen that have made us dream for generations – all performed in a jazz style.
Genova, Christmas in Music
On the 15th of December, “Come un canto di Luce” will take place, the unmissable Christmas event featuring the Children’s Choir of the Carlo Felice Opera in Genoa, directed by Gino Tanasini. At the Govi Theatre in Bolzaneto on the 14th and 15th of December, the YeaWea company will perform its most famous show, “Incanto”. On the 14th of December, the restored organ of the Basilica delle Vigne will be inaugurated, returning to its full splendour.
A concert by the choir Voci di due Paesi of the Musikverein of the German School, directed by Fabrizio Callai, will feature choral pieces by Marco Enrico Bossi. On the 23rd of December at the Genovese Theatre, step into the vibrant and dynamic world of the Benedict Gospel Choir, composed of talented vocalists from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and age groups, with members hailing from states such as South Carolina, Kentucky, and Georgia.

Churches in Music
The Melody of Christmas in Genoa’s Churches: Christmas carols, classical music, and traditional Christmas songs will fill the most beautiful churches of Genoa from the 7th of December 2024 to the 5th of January 2025.
Ten evenings featuring 40 performers, including choirs, soloists, and musical ensembles, will take place in these stunning venues. All concerts are free and open to everyone, both tourists and locals.
Rapallo: Sibelius Concerts and Christmas Performances
Christmas Concert
On Saturday, 14th of December 2024, at 4pm, the Christmas Concert will take place at the Church of San Massimo in Rapallo. The “Genovese” String Quartet will perform a programme featuring music from various composers, ranging from the Baroque period to the present day, as well as some of the most famous pieces from the Christmas tradition. This is the fourth event in the eighth edition of “I concerti della Sibelius”, a musical series organised by the Jean Sibelius Orchestra of Rapallo, with support from the Municipal Administration and sponsorship from the Liguria Region and the Metropolitan City of Genoa. Admission is free and open to all.
Notes of Generosity
The charity concert originally scheduled for 10 December has been postponed to 12 December 2024, at 8:45 pm, in the Sala del Maggior Consiglio at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. (Reservations for 10 December remain valid for the new date.) The evening will feature the Fanfara della Brigata Taurinense, and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Gigi Ghirotti Genova ETS Foundation.

Christmas Concert at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montebruno
On the 23rd of December at 6pm, enjoy a Christmas concert by the Polyphonic Choir of the S. Pertini Music High School, directed by Lucia Verzillo. The concert will take place in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montebruno, which is also home to the historic nativity scene. The programme will include timeless Christmas classics and symphonies by Paganini, as the musicians and singers of the Sandro Pertini High School offer spectators a captivating musical experience.
The notes of Christmas in Levante
On the 15th of December at 12pm, the Paganini Orchestra, conducted by Vittorio Marchese, will perform works by Arcangelo Corelli (Concerto grosso per la notte di Natale) and Ernest Bloch (Concerto grosso No. 1 for strings and piano). Also at the Teatro Sociale, on the 22nd of December, the Joyful Gospel Ensemble will take the stage, bringing gospel and spiritual music to life with their unique musical style and reinterpretation of the genre’s most beautiful moments.
Christmas in Music in the Gulf of Poets
In Sarzana, until the 23rd of December, the “Note Magiche” series returns, organised by the Sarzana Vitae Consortium. On the 20th of December, at the Teatro degli Impavidi, enjoy the Grand Christmas Lyric Gala featuring the Christmas Trio. In Lerici, on the 8th of December, Piazza Garibaldi will resonate with the gospel music and voices of the Jubilation Gospel Choir. At the Teatro Civico in La Spezia on the 14th of December, Marquis Dolford & the Capital Gospel Group, accompanied by a rhythm section, will perform. Also at the Teatro Civico, on the 25th and 26th of December, don’t miss Trac Circus Cabaret, an original show bringing together three international companies in a variety performance that blends multiple artistic disciplines.
