Madonna Bianca
Every year, Porto Venere relives the magical atmospheres created on the occasion of the religious festivity dedicated to the Madonna Bianca, a miraculous painting on parchment kept in the present-day San Lorenzo’s Church.
At nightfall, the village of Porto Venere is dotted with small lanterns all along the faraglione and up to the striking and iconic St. Peter’s Church.
A truly magical spectacle.
The miraculous image is carried in procession through the streets of the village and stops in the square at the foot of St. Peter’s Church, lit by torches in a mystical atmosphere of bygone days.
