There’s no better time than spring to truly understand the nickname of this town on the Riviera dei Fiori. If the songs or the arrival of the Classicissima don’t amaze you, Sanremo will surely enchant you with its flowers. On Sunday, 16 March, the Corso Fiorito returns—a spectacular parade of themed floats decorated with floral arrangements and installations in the heart of Sanremo.

The Flower Parade

The enchantment will return on the 16th March with the event that brings spring to the Riviera: installations, floral carpets, displays, showers of petals, and colourful fragrances will fill all of Sanremo. The event began in January 1904 during the Belle Époque as the Festival of the Goddess Flora. It was already a parade of carriages adorned and decorated with floral creations along the streets of Sanremo. The event became an annual fixture and was moved to spring. After the Second World War, the celebration was renamed Italia in Fiore: flower-adorned floats were accompanied by musical bands and folk groups. Thanks to this event, Sanremo became the city of flowers par excellence.
