Genoa and surroundings

Genoa, a unique, authentic experience

A city of art recognised as a UNESCO heritage site for its famous Palazzi dei Rolli, an arrival and departure point for large cruises, a multi-service centre for yachting, Genoa is one of Italy's most popular tourist destinations. Its historical centre and museums host fantastic works by Caravaggio, Antonello da Messina, Van Dyck and Rubens. Genoa is a city of parks, as famous as those in Nervi and the Durazzo Pallavicini in Pegli. In the city you will find the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, the little restaurants that wink at every hour as Genoa is the motherland of pesto, made with PDO basil. Just a stone's throw away is Recco, the gastronomic capital of Liguria with its IGP focaccia al formaggio (cheese focaccia). Inland is the beautiful Antola Park, to the east the village of Camogli; then Campo Ligure the centre of filigree and Torriglia with its sweet canestrelli.
