Coast
For fans of the sea and sea sports, Liguria is truly spoilt for choice.
You can choose to experience the Ligurian sea in relaxation, by boat or enjoying an active holiday. Experiencing the sea in Liguria means discovering ever-changing coves, beaches and coastal landscapes: with a prevalence of sandy beaches on the West Coast Riviera and cliffs on the East Coast Riviera. Ligurian sea can be enjoyed throughout the year. In fact, in Liguria people go to the beach all year round: sunbathing in summer and adrenalin rushes in surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing in autumn and winter. Or you can get lost exploring the thousands of coves by canoe, kayak or boat, with many marinas and the highest number of berths in Italy. If you want to discover the abyss, Liguria is also a paradise for divers and has many diving centres. A silent universe in which to discover the interior of a wreck or encounter the rich underwater fauna and vegetation up close. A region with six marine protected areas that fascinate the whole world: Portofino, Cinque Terre, Gallinara Island, Bergeggi Island, Capo Mortola and Porto Venere.
